Soffit & Fascia Installation

Soffit & Fascia Installation

Most homeowners know something about gutter systems, and why they are important. Fewer homeowners know about the importance of soffit and fascia, or even know what they are. Your fascia and soffit specialists at Gutters Unlimited want you to know why they are important. The fascia is the long straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof.

They are vertical (imagine a board resting on its edge). On the gable ends of houses, the fascia boards are often in the form of an upside down V. They cover the ends of the rafters. The fascia board carries the weight of the guttering, which if full of flowing water, may be significant weight. The boards need to be strong and to be installed correctly. The soffit is located at a right angle under the fascia board. This acts as a surface area and also as a seal between the siding and the roof.

The soffit needs to be ventilated. Otherwise, moisture from condensation can build up, which can lead to mold. Soffits that are broken or cracked should be placed right away. Homeowners should
periodically check the soffit. They are somewhat out of sight and are easy to ignore.

Fascia is visible from the street and can have an impact on the curb appeal of a residence. If they are neat and properly installed, they contribute to a more positive curb appeal.

Maintaining Soffit and Fascia installation in good condition is important. They need to be installed correctly in the first place. Gutters Unlimited does Soffit and Fascia installation on new construction. We also replace soffit and fascia if damaged. If you have concerns about fascia and soffits, please give us a call.
